OK, I'm a heretic.

My first car was a 1959 Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite, But before that, I couldn't get enough of hot rods and funny cars. So it just seemed natural to combine American power and Brit handling and style. I know all about what it takes to make a concours Austin-Healey, but I just can't get that hot rod urge out of my blood.http://:forum.britishv8.org/read.php?13,8264 (http://:forum.britishv8.org/read.php?13,8264)
Any other cross breeds out there?

Rick

I have a 58 English Ford Zodiak and a 56 De Soto 330 Hemi, would that count? I'm too deep into the resto on my 68 Formula S convert to think about the Zodiak now. I hope to be retiring in a couple years and the Zodiak is my plan for my first retirement project, Joe.

Rarefish, if you do that swap you'll have the respect of lots of rodders over here. I'm thinking there may be a width issue to resolve first. best buy a tape measure. The "standard" swap over here is a Ford 302 which aparrently fits dead easy. There's dozens over here with that combo. having said that I've seen a few with big blocks so that Hemi may queeze in if you're determined.

My car is an old racer that was originally converted to SBC in 1957 after racing in C Production..and moved to C/Modified Production. I restored it and converted it to streetable..kept the SBC (all new..but done in a period way mostly).

Thanks for taking notice. That alone gives me the will to make it work. If I try this I'll probably go with an early gasser look with a straight axle. So I should be able to open up the front end alot. Heck, if they can put a 392 in an Anglia I should have a ton of room, Joe.

I thought I had posted a pic of the old Zo, but that was a different thread, this is the only one I have handy, Joe.
