Anyone doing a vacation along with the Drags?

First of all let me say that I do not work for Bas Pro.

If you are looking for a cheap trip to Branson here is the way to go. The only draw back is to sit through a 90 min presentation about Bass Pro Shops, Big Cedar Lodge.

You can book a 2 night, 3 day stay at the Radison Hotel in Branson for $99.00. After you listen to the sales pitch about Big Cedar they give you a $75.00 gift card to Bass Pro to spend any way you want.

The wife and I did this trip 2 years ago and had a blast. We will be staying there before the Drags then heading to Springfield for a shopping trip, then heading to Joplin for the Friday night party. Joplin is only 70 miles from Springfield on I-44.

The HAMB Drags is a VACATION...............

My boy and I are leaving from Dallas, the Saturday prior. Gonna run up to Chicago, hit the starting point of Route 66, and head back to Joplin. Spend a couple days in St. Louis w/family and friends.
Should be in Joplin, Thursday afternoon...........

On route 66 Stop here for a meal http://www.ariston-cafe.com/ it is at Litchfield, IL You will not be dissappointed. Between Rolla and Waynesville, Mo make the loop through Devils Elbow and stop on the bridge there for a picture. Have fun and we will see ya at the drags.

Michelle and I have just about exhausted things to do in and around this event.

Two years ago we did St Louis, Branson, and back up via Kansas City.

Last year we did St Louis, Memphis, Mississippi, Arkansas, the famous Canoe trip

This year we are cutting it shorter and just heading to the Illinois State Fair on Wednesday, St Louis on Thursday and then down to Joplin on Friday. Head straight back to Chicago on Sunday with a little fuel from World's Largest Candy Store.

Hell yeah ! This is a vacation for my white trash ass ! will be leaving in the am on friday with matthewcain in the Peckerhead coop ! Will be there friday afternoon too start partying ! Big Ken be safe and will see you when I get there !

There is a BIG CRUISE in Branson Mo. the weekend of the 9th. Big traffic jam. Anyhow I start there then the next weekend there's a drunken german party called Enrtefest in Friestate Mo. Then the next weekend is swap meet and HAMB drags.Then it's back to work to pay for the last 3 weeks of fun.Ozark Empire Fair is in there somewhere too. It is in Sprinfield.So much to do and so little time!!!

Speaking of traveling, Those that are considering flying might choose the new airport in Branson rather than Spfld or Joplin. Since it's brand new I've heard there are some pretty good rates available.
