As sad as that is it's a great piece of photography.
I'd blow that up, frame it and hang it on a wall.

On the news last night they had a shot of a burned home with a '59 El Camino burned up next to it. Sad. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Some day if I can borrow his book I will post pics of my friend Dougs '57 Bel Air that burned in a garage fire and he completely rebuilt. He even had to replace the top on the car but you wouldn't know it now. He has photos of it sitting in the ruins of garage with progress pics of the rebuild. It's truly a "Phoenix" type "raised from the ashes" type tale.

In 1983 I had a '32 4cyl. 2dr with 27,000 pampered miles on it, bought from the second owner. I dissasembled the carto start a rod buildup. The car was stored in a rented 3 car garage in pieces. Along with the car was 3 '32 frames, a '34 frame, and a couple of Model A frames. A new Franklin QC rear and about $4,000 worth of misc. car parts.
While we were away for the weekend the guy that owned the garage set fire to the house next door to collect the insurance money. As the house was burning a wall collapsed on the garage and caught it on fire also. Long story short version. I lost everything and due to a clause in the insurance policy that didn't cover intentional acts of destruction the claim was denied. I still feel like crying when I see the pictures of that cherry '32 sitting in the rubble with the top melted down inside the body.

A guy here named Joseph spent 7 years 'over-restoring' this truck, using stainless steel fasteners and some modern updates. He put it in a mini storage which was torched by some guy mad at the mini storage owners, Joseph got $30,000 insurance money but he didnt get his 7 years back. The arsonist was caught. These are the only pics of the truck before it burned.

Man I was on the phone with a friend in New Castle, just outside LA. As I was talking to him his wife came in the door and said, "Pack the essentials, we're leaving." It was a scary thought. He stands to lose his '68 Triumph Bonneville and his grandpa's hand me down '52 Panhead. He's like family to me, he's my brother and now the shit's gotten personal.
And to think some of these fires were intentionally set just sickens me even more.

About the time I bought my first house, my dad bought a cherry 30/31 Model A sport coupe.
My dad passed away before I got my garage ready to work on it.
The body was stored in the guy he bought it froms rental property.
The boyfriend of a girl that lived in the house burned the barn down because he was pissed at her.
As the little prick was running back to his car, he came face to face with a neighbor.
The neighbor called the cops. They picked him up, his parents lied for him, and he was never charged.
He moved to Fla and hung himself. Too bad!
I wanted to take him out myself! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
