My friend's '53 Merc is going to be on the cover of the December Hot Rod. There are going to be three different covers that month, so it won't be on every one. It's a real bitchin' car - lots of nice kustom work by Gary Minor and a slick flathead built by Vern Tardel.

They're doing a contest where you can vote for the cars/models for the '04 (or '05...not sure) calendar, so if you have a second log on and vote for Valerie Baber and the blue/silver merc.

Click on "vote" (or click on Valerie's name to check out the car - THEN vote)

The car is awesome. I hope they start doing features on Kustoms & Rods. Are they doing a feature on the Merc? I saw some pictures on the build at KKOA's Spectacular. Love the tailights. (54 Packard) KOOOOL!

I remember seeing your friends car at Gary's when he was working on it. Can you post pics of the mill?
I remember that flathead being pretty awesome.

Voted for it, it was clearly the coolest car. She was nice as well.
