1953 Chevrolet HARDTOP Sport Coupe BELAIR 2 Dr - RARE & RESTORABLE or RAT ROD
Up on this sale/auction is a used very RARE 1953 Chevrolet Hardtop 2 door model Belair which GM built only 99,028 of these cars and very few still exist. The Hardtop or sometimes called the "Sport Coupe" is the most desirable body style because not having the post around the doors & windows gives it the convertible feeling. This car is very solid and is in very restorable condition, could be street rodded or Rat Rod. It has been partially stripped and the restoration has been started but still has most of the parts still assembled. I would best estimate that over 95% of the parts are included in this sale/auction and really can only think that a good front windshield is missing. The replacement straight 6 cylinder 235 CI engine and power glide 2 speed automatic transmission is included and the engine turns over and should run. This Hardtop was from the dry climate of the southwest and currently has the CLEAR Michigan paperwork title in my name.
I have included several of the used parts to complete this car which should be over 95% of the parts needed. I have several pictures showing the loose parts in more detail and are available for the asking. I will also go thru the loose parts and installation instructions with the buyer during the completion of the sale. Some of the major loose parts included is the used rear windshield, radiator, gas tank, 5 each 1953 Chevrolet correct wheels, hub caps, seats, interior rear view mirror and many other small miscellaneous parts.
The car can be sold with or without the tranny, engine and clutch/shifter parts. We could assist in delivery but details need to be worked out during the sale.
Please send me a PM, an email message at ronldubois@hotmail.com or notified me thru eBay under the name of dubie54. My telephone number is 734-223-1734 and the car is priced at $4,000.00 OBO.

I have been getting many questions on this car and wanted to add this information.
I have had about 40 of the 1953-54 Chevrolets in the past 8 years or so and still have about 12 on my property. Most of the 12 are part cars except this 53 hardtop, 53 4 door sedan Belair, and a 54 hardtop that I am working on. I have parted out about 15 of the rust buckets and still have a shed full of parts.
I would be willing to reduce the price of the car if purchased without the engine and tranny but would still need the rear end for being a roller. The price would be reduced to $3275.00 and with the engine & tranny is $3750.00 which started off being $4250.00.
The body on this hardtop is very solid and already had some minor rust issues repaired by a local professional body shop being the passenger side front floor and a small section repaired on the rear passenger floor. Also the body shop repaired some small rust issues on the trunk lip area and both the floor and trunk area has been coated. The ONLY small rust issue remaining is on the passenger side rocker and has rust thru about 2-4 inches. The rest of the rockers are solid and would only need a small patch area which is near the rear of the door but on the rocker. The recent pictures does not have a passenger side front fender installed on the car but a nice replacement will be included.

I have many pictures of this hardtop and willing to send them to anyone for the asking. Please PM me at the email address listed below. All the parts will be included that is missing from the car and as long as I have the part in stock which I believe that I have 100% of all the parts except a front windshield.
Every part will be included with this car except the front windshield. The front windshield is cracked and has some of the glass broken out. The front windshield is available from several vendors and seen the price to be around $320.00 plus s&h.

Those major parts will included:
1) Front 2 door seat with seat shells and brackets
2) Rear seat cushion and back only being for the Hardtop
3) Rear windshield
4) All interior pieces included in the pictures and all parts that are not in the pictures is included
5) Nice stainless steel chrome for the 2 door Belair
6) A nice replacement passenger side fender
7) Hood and trunk ornaments.
8) Front bumper, brackets & splashpan
9) Rear bumper, brackets & splashpan
10) Everything needed will be included with the car and these parts are nice and in very good condition....

Where are you located? We could assist with the transporting of this car.

This car is very solid, rolls and would make an excellent candiate for restoration to stock, street rod or anything else. The car was listed on eBay and you can still view the listing number 180358242008 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180358242008&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:MOTORS:1123)
