I'm a new "old iron" guy and personally felt all the cars died in 1975. I have fallen in love with the old cars ever since I saw a 57 chevy in 1957. I don't have a single one car as an all time favorite but would have to have enough money and room for at least 25 cars in a collection. I've been booted off other narrow minded forums for My attitude towards new/newer cars and that is; they are junk. They have no heart, history or identity as far as I'm concerned. They are just transportation. So being about a 5 minute veteren of this site, I figured I'd get it in the open and see how long a personal opinion lasts here.

Welcome to the HAMB! As long as you don't mention "rat rods" around here, you'll probably do just fine. With a cut off year of 1964, the focus here is really traditional rods and customs.

Later, Kinky6

the cutoff here is 1964 !!! Yikes....My 67 is too new......too funny..rat rods....WTF is a rat rod.....We had primered old iron that was in restoration mode and paint was the last thing money was spent on...performance was always first in mind...now they slap primer on a 56 4 door whatever and think it's cool ??

Welcome! It takes awhile to get the swing of things around here... Best advice is to hang out and observe what flies and what doesn't. Usually, being an FNG, the safest route to take is factual on topic posts & replies. A few of the veterans have been known to BBQ FNG's who voice an opinion that may be slightly different from thier own. ;) It's not nearly as bad as it seems though. This place is awesome if you are into the old iron, like no other site on earth. And the veterans like to keep it that way(so do I)...

Oh, I think you lose your FNG status at either 50 or 100 posts. If you happen to have a HAMB friendly ride or get one, remember that pictures are part of the unwritten rules :D

There are always exceptions to the rule. My Comet is a '65 and it fits in here just fine, it really depends on the style in which the car is/was built it. Pro Street will set an angry mob in motion, an old Super Stock style car will earn you lots of positive comments. Welcome to the HAMB, post some pics of the Super Bee & GTX.

I don't mind the FNG thingie..being in the Military since 69, I've been a FNG at every new Base I went to. I do mind an attitude that someone may believe they are better or smarter because they are affilliated with somthing longer than another. If that's the case then everyone is a FNG born after Me....and there are most likely ALOT of those..Retired in 2003...oh...so I was a FNG retired guy then...I guess..lol...

In 75,all the cars lost it as far as I'm concerned. At least in 74 the barracuda and challenger still had some decent style. Last good year for the mustang , as far as I'm concerned was 73..fastback only, last good year for chevelle was 72. If performance is a deciding factor then 72 brought all the HP down regardless of where it was measured.
