Here's a few shots of the progress on my '48 Ford Sedan. Its basically all apart. I'm try'n like hell to get the frame blasted before snow flies around here. Everything looks much worse in the pictures than it really is. The body is relatively straight with no real rot issues anywhere. The frame is mint. Just a strip, blast, prime and probably paint. Sounds easy, eh? Hah! Everything is gonna be dirt simple. I'm probably going for the surf rod look. Power is gonna be a '57 292 Y-block, the trans is an early Falcon B/W T10 and the rearend is an 8" Mustang unit. I've got an Edelbrock 553 intake with 3 fresh 94's for it. The front suspension is gonna be stockish but dropped in the weeds as far as I can get it.

Of course its helpful to have this....

I've been picking up parts here and there for it. My intention is to have the car (even if I gotta sit on orange crates) at York and/or Indy.

That looks kinda familiar...

Are you going to use the original steering box?

What year Mustang? How are you hanging it?

The jury is out on the original steering box. It feels pretty good and the '48 box is supposed to be the better of the fat fender boxes but if I've got the funds to upgrade it I'll do it. It'll atleast be fresh before it goes on the road but thats one thing I'd rather update (like the change to front disks as well) for safety's sake. There's gonna be room for any steering box because this is a truck motor that uses front cover and bellhousing mounts leaving the sides wide open....header clearance still looks like a toughy (I don't think I'll have to split the wishbone at this point) so I may go with fender well headers to simplify things. We'll see.

The Mustang rear is out of a 68. Its gonna be hung on parellel leafs.....once I get my butt back into gear on the project. Its been stalled for the last couple of weeks.
