Hi All!
I am building a 1966 Ford truck. I'm about to install an automatic overdrive transmission, and got stalled out. I'm hoping someone out there has "been there-done that".
My truck has a 240 cu in 6 cyl, and I am installing a Ford AOD transmission out of a 1987 F 150. I am not sure what to use for a flexplate, because I don't know what offset balance this engine requires. My options are zero, 28 oz., or 50 oz. Installing the wrong one will destroy a freshly rebuilt engine fairly quickly.
So far, I've installed new floor pans, cab mounts, power steering from a 1976, intermittant wiper, rebuilt the engine, recovered the seat, replaced the king pins and bushings, sandblasted a box, hood and doors(ready to paint), replaced the 3 spd. manual trans. with a C4(no hell on the highway-55 mph = 4000 rpm).
Glad to be here, and hope to chat with some of you soon.
