I don't care if this is or isn't off topic, I trust you guys can help me in my time of need.

The zip disk I have all my hotrod, custom, and family pictures on, along with all my resumes and job history and app type stuff on just came up with a "STOP" flag.
"The disc "john" cannot be used, because it cannot be found"
with the only option bing to click an "OK" box which immediately makes the zip drive spit out the disk.
Is there a way to over ride or make the MAC G4 "find" the disk?
Other disks open just fine so it's not the computer or zip drive, I don''t think.
please help, anybody?

I had a similar thing happen. I am so computer illiterate - but it came up that we had to reinstall or redirect the computer to look in the right location.
Sorry - not sure this was much help. The guy that helped me said if it happened again I should consider buying a new zip drive. Didn't make sense but like I said computer illiterate. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's not the drive.
I have two Zip drives and both reject this disk.
Both accept and work with other disks I have so it's something with the disk.
Can they get viruses (from downloading incripted pictures off the net maybe?) and the computer not get the same virus?
My computer runs virus scans before and after startup quit, and it says it's clear, in fact the virus scan clears this non'disk too, then says it cannot be found????
it's like it dissappeared, or got hidden, yet the computer still knows the name/title of the disk... It doesn't just come on blank, like it's been erased or something, the system just won't recognize it at all, except the name.
So it's playing it long enough to recognize the name.
