Hey Everbody! My name's Mike Anderson from Princeton, IL about 2 hours West of the Windy City.
I just picked up a '50 Olds 88 4 door that was an unfinished racer project that I plan to finish into a LaCarrera Panamericana racer.
I've run the race twice before, in 2001 when we filmed a documentary called "JUnkyard to Finish Line, and in 2007, where I was doing fine until I went straight when I was supposed to turn left on a hairpin in the mountains...the car didn't fair too well, but we walked away unharmed.
I ran a '52 Chevy in 2007 that was painted to look like it ran originally in the 50's, sort of like a race car rat-rod; we got awesome crowd response everywhere we went. This is also my plan for the Olds.
Is there a way to post pics? I could put one of each car on if anyone's interested...
