hey kids..gettin ready to put the studebaker back togeather for the final time before paint I think...doin the unercoating of fenders, nooks and crannies and such...the other day i used a can of bedliner paint and put in on the floor boards and such for under the carpet...that stuff is tough stuff, fill cracks, don't scratch,etc...why wouldn't it make a great undercoat for the rest of the car...?seems to me like it would be better than 3M stuff...what do you guys use?..this car is gonna be a driver and gets drivin on a gravel road...thanks

To prevent star chips in the fenders on a gravel road go with Rhino lining. Not too pretty but will deter any star chips. I had a coil spring "helper" fly out under pressure once and it didn't hurt the fender at all.

The other stuff would probably work everywhere else.

From everything I've heard it works great, better than regular undercoating. I suppose the only disadvantage is that it's cheaper to use regular old undercoating.

I use Morton, It's a two part system. Great stuff. I've done the underside, and the inside on several cars.

The only problem with Bedliner is if you use it under a fender that later needs to be repaired. Ever try to remove the shit? I would go with paintable undercoating on fenders at least.

A little heat, and the Morton scrapes off. It actually comes off cleaner and easier than under coat, and spots in well.

Trent, try the morton. I think you'll like it. It's only 1/8" thich but still protects well. I wouldn't use the rhino, or line X either. The shits way too thick, and expensive.

The Coolcar stuff is neat, I got a sample of it. Kinda pricy unless you could get several buds to go in together. The Coolcar guys reccomend buying their gun and would only sell in 5 or 10 gallons at a time.
