i found TWO 1953 chrysler new yorker 4 dr sedans today. very complete ,both cars with hemi's,

dude is asking 800 for one with surface rust and a CLAIMED 37K,only missing plug wire covers and aircleaner

the other car is better condition with 56K for 1200.complete including aircleaner neither one runs, but the guy SEZ they turn over and ACT like they want to start, but you know how that goes,

im just asking cuz i have no idea the value of these early hemi's,,

..and fuck http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif,i forgot to check if they were stick or auto http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Local dude around here is selling an old DeSoto with a Hemi in it (a 1952 with a 331 I think) and asking $500 for the whole (not running) car. Motor is said to be complete and not seized.

I thought it sounded fair, but I have no use for it myself.

Hope it gives you an idea.

They're not particularly valuable but they definitely sound like they're worth what he's asking. They're most likely autos also, yeah.

Sammy, I only paid $300.00 for my '54 331 hemi but that was 4-5 years ago. The 354's and 392's are worth quite a bit more money. They are going for $500 to $1000 now. I had a chance to buy a rebuilt one last week for $1000. I don't believe I would pay more than $500-$600 for a complete one.Thats for a 331. They make cool engines but are very expensive to rebuild. If you are buying them to resell and make a buck they are a little too much money. Hope this helps you make a decision.

They will definitely be autos. Chrysler never made any HEMIs with sticks.

These would also have the not so desirable extended bellhousings.

Those sound like fair deals. Not great deals, but fair.
