I think most of the running gear will interchange.

from what I gather not very much... did you find the entire car? or what??

I know that the aftermarket suspension parts bolt onto that chassis. so I assume that the frames are the same.. the bodies however are WAY different.. even though they look close.

by the way if your looking for a merc I know theres a 40 merc sedan near my house, along with a RARE convertable sedan.. but the price is HIGH, way high. WHich of course is why i dont own them....

yeah longacre... He didnt what to sell just the 4 door. he wanted to sell the 4 door and the convertable sedan project as a "package"

what I do know is that the top for the convert sedan is GONE as in nothing left HE SOLD IT. and that the car was cut into 3 pieces in order to be "stored" at least thats what LONGACRE had told me..

ITs hard to deal with him most times... He's got so much cool stuff.. I guess the front and rear that your speakin of is the stuff right in front of his house under the tree?? he did have a merc cowl there too.

we should talk..

Everything is the same a Ford.

Possible rear end differences: Many but not all '39-40 Mercs had an odd rear end with drive pinion made integral with the driveshaft. Construction is otherwise same as Ford. Obviously, this rear needs some modification of shortening procedures to use in an early model. Also, the commonest ratio is 3.54, while most Fords of this era had 3.78.
