damn, thats CRAZY!!... i have an entire 3 ring binder FULL of Nailhead info and old magazine articles. it'd take me about a week to scan the whole thing and then email it with my dial up conection, but if i get some time i might be able to go to the copy store and run you off a copy of the whole thing. i'm a little slow so forgive me if you don't get it next day air or anything but if you email me your address i will do my best to get it to you in this lifetime.

In case you weren't aware, Yahoo has a great nailhead discussion group. Haven't posted there in over a year, but I lurk occasionally just to read the threads. Most of the guys there seriously know their shit. I've learned A LOT from that place. In case you care, I just bought a 48 Ford F1 with a 51 front end, and plan on running the 364 out of my 59 Buick parts car & the original tranny out of my 65 Riv. It's the 250 hp version, and since some machine work is necessary in order to use the tranny, I'm just going to go ahead & rebuild the motor & warm it up a bit while it's out (maybe try to get it up to around 300 or so horses) & go the trad route on the motor's appearance (multi-carb intake, chrome stock valve covers or some vintage aftermarkets, etc.). If the motor gets too pretty I may run it hoodless half the time. Multipe carbs are fun to look at when you're going down the road.
I know Doc Fromader pretty well, I have all of his Nailhead articles in loose page form. I can copy them for ya? PM me iffin you are interested.

Titus how many cubes is your motor? Also tell me if ya ever come upon a 401 or 425. I'd let ya keep everything cept heads, crank, rods and Block ( I got a project planned for after the A) All for the price of a 350 block and $$$? Trent, you rule
[ QUOTE ] the funny thing bout that car is that he went faster w/ 2 motors instead of 4 [/ QUOTE ] Yeah but it looks cool as shit..
If you look closely, the 4 engine dragster appears to be all wheel drive. See the slicks on the front & the position of the engines. That's just sick.

Here's another variation on the reversed induction idea. I've read that it worked somewhat better, because the supercharging overcame the limitations of dogleg exhaust port, and the almost straight-out intake ports allowed the exhuast to flow out freely. Wildly interesting motors. I've been pissing around with the idea of making a 1/8th scale model of a 401, but i've never made it past the measurment stage. I was actually working on some measurements today for it.. complicated motor to model, it has some pretty complex shapes.
