I've got these drums...newer Buick finned drums, the ones with more fins. I got these backing plates... from a '49 Lincoln. They seem to fit properly, and are the right diameter... I think.
My question is, where did I hear they would work together...and will they?
Thanks,

They only work together if you do it.

Why not? I'm gonna cobble buick finned drums onto, what else, Buick backing plates on early ford spindles. Film at 11.

Cadillac........40 backing plates work but they don't have the modern self-energizing brakes that the Lincoln and Buick backing plates utilize. With a 700 lb hemi up front, I want my hot rod to stop.

Wilson Welding is repoping the lincoln backing plates to use with the buick drums. There is an article in the new SRM about them. I'm thinking about goin this route on my sedan. later plmczy
