I am about finished geting my 1968 Impala 2-door ready for the road. I've been working on the car since I was 15 (I'm 17 now) It's got a 307 with 305 heads, 262/272 summit racing cam, Eddelebrock performer intake manifold, Eddelbrock 1405 600 cfm carb and a powerglide automatic.

I know it's an off topic car, but I'd like to know what real hot-roders would think about it. Is it as bad as a honda with a fart-can muffler, or do I get some respect for driving something I essentialy rebuilt my self? In reality how serouis are you guys about the "annything newer than 1964 is crap" rule?

I moved this to the Q&S Forum because this is really a question about the Board.

The Cut Off Date Rule is only in the classifieds.

On the Main Board the Guide Line is, On Topic and Relevant.

So a '50s car could be Off Topic if the build style doesnt fit the Focus of the HAMB, and a slightly newer car ( than mid '60s ) could fit if it does fit the focus...

A late '60s, probably not.

But there are exceptions...

There have been Threads about this.
Do a seach for " Cut Off Date "

Its not that "anything newer than 64 is crap", as you said. It is simply the fact that this board has a "preference". No different then me going to a ricer board and posting how great a corvette is for example. The internet is HUGE and there are forums for everything, this just doesnt happen to be one for that.
