A hot tip for stuck rings

So, I got this SBC donated to the school. We tore it apart, and all the rings were stuck on the pistons. Really stuck. In a burst of genious, I got out the torch, and heated the tops of the pistons. When the aluminum expands, the rings come out like nothin'. Most didn't even break. Probably nothing new, but I just discovered it.

Just make sure you don't overheat the piston. Melty piston bad...

Also, make sure that the piston is reasonably clean. Oily pistons will go up in smoke.....
