Can you show me what my car would look like lowered with a mild chop and a nice light yellow, true red or robin egg blue paint job with a white top?

Someone did the chop and lower on the hamb last week but i'd like to see the paint different too...

Thanks a million!

At the risk of sounding like a restorer- you want to cut that up?? It's beautiful! Engine and transmission swap, definitely, maybe a lowering job, but it's just too nice to cut IMO. Olds Rocket and a six speed, beefed suspension... mmmmm.

Sorry, not my car, I know.

Hey there...

I have no plans to do anything to "Faye" other than paint her (her paint is 22 years old and going in spots), lower her a little and possibly soup up her doggy 216 at the moment. (She fights for power on hills and such)

The chop is more a fantasy thing. She is so complete and in great original shape that it would be really hard for me to do anything to her that couldn't be easily undone.

Don't fret! I know that I have a good thing.

I'd just love to see some other outfits for her ; )

Again...check the heading here. classifieds is down one. And I would cut that thing up in a second. They built a bazillion of them. Well done customs will always be be worth more than a no options stocker. Just my opinion...

Hiya Stacy

My .02, but I'm gonna go against everybody else and say CHOP IT !!!
A chopped roof makes her look real purty!

Otherwise I think it looks classy as hell, and with such a clean car, it's hard to go wrong whatever you do. Simple bright colors and a white roof are soooo perfect for this car. Here's my best photochop of "Faye", hope you like her new clothes!

Peace!

EGADS! I love them all!

The yellow is definitely hot.. I have a thing about yellow, my bettle and my scooter are both yellow.

The repaint is at least a year away but the lower is gonna happen sooner than that I hope..

Nice job guys! Thanks!

if you are gonna keep all the gingerbread on "her", than it is absolutely imperative that you build it as a lowrider bomb. slammed with some 14" astros or tru-spokes with narrow whites, stick to the stock colors, but flake the fuck outta it.

done.

which would be very cool. would be a shame to strip all the stuff off and make a smoothie out of it, and it has no place on a custom.

"gingerbread" I like that. On a car like that I kind of like the idea of chopping the hell out of it and putting the effort into rebuilding the original gingerbread to fit the new shapes. Then use the stock drivetrain (not visibly beefed anyway), colors and materials. its more of a mind fuck then and would make a restorer's head spin. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Stacey;
Don't be bashfull, Chop that baby! The best place to start building a Kustom from is the nicest most perfict stocker you can find. I think you did Good on step 1! If everything was ment to be left as manufactored paint would stay in the can. Remember, Sam Barris started Chopping the top of his 49 Merc. the second day he owned it. He hadn't even made his first payment yet.
