My shop is in a Fl swamp;it is virtually impossible to keep my wirefeed corrosion free and keep wire rustfree overnite. My buzzbox keeps on working, regardless.Until a few yers ago they sold 110v buzz boxes with tiny flux coated rods.Would one of these be a possible replacement on sheetmetal work? Who sells them? my welding supply can furnish the rod.I'm tired of the lost time spent with the mig.

If its that bad, you should remove the spool and put it back in the bag with the Dessicant pouch between jobs. The dessicant can be recharged from time to time by putting it in a dehydrator or in the oven for an hour or two on the lowest setting.
You can get the 1/16" Rods just about anywhere and they will work on sheetmetal, but not as good as a MIG.
What wire are you using? Coated wire is much more rust resistant than uncoated Cored wire.

Any wire that I've used is Copper coated,so corrosion isn't a major problem.I would be very suprised if there was a stick rod that would give good results on sheetmetal.

Keep all your electrodes and spool wire in a dehumidified box or small oven. Easy to make. Just build or find a small metal box ( ie. breadbox or whatever ) and install a small 40 watt bulb into it. It will keep them warm and dry.

I've even used an old refrigerater set up the same way. Pretty air tight.

I was going to say use a 00 tip on an acetylene torch and cut up your mig wire in 2 foot lengths and straighten it out..... works great for me.....not to hijack here...but is the henrob really that good?
