Care to tell the story of Tom Spark's? This guys collection is AMAZING, not to mention filled with some seriously cool stuff. Its cool to see someones take on SoCal. I think you hit some great spots.

Thanks, glad you guys like'em.
That '58 wagon was painted, not primer. I may have some pics of it at Viva too I can dig up. Awesome car.
Tom Sparks worked for Eddie Meyer for years. My camera battery died, or else you guys would really flip out if you could have seen shots of the office. Lots of vintage speed stuff. Now days, in his 80s, he rents cars for photo shoots and movie work. I really enjoyed his stories on the Tucker movie and taking apart Francis Ford Copola's Tucker, make molds of everything and making 8 complete cars, and how he made the roll over car out of a stude. He's won several awards at the Concours De Elegance with his restorations as well. Very nice fellow and very willing to share his stories and knowledge. Fastsporty will have to fill in any blanks, as he is friends with him.
The quote of the trip was Fastsporty's g/f telling my g/f on the phone, after my g/f said she really wished she could have come along... "Be glad you didn't come, you'd have been really bored. They've done nothing but car stuff 24/7." http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Did anyone see my welding pics? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif Fastsporty taught me how to MIG weld!

Nice site chad! Can you believe we did all of that in 5 days! I think I put 600 miles on my truck. I needed a vacation from Django's vacation, but no I had to drive down for a week shoot down in san diego right after I dropped him off at the airport. Can you believe he didn't even bring a camera! I lent him my digi and he went through 2 batteries and two cards a day. it was 24/7 cars until the last day of surfing. (thanks again shortbus for bringing the boards) I was so tired that after pamona I fell asleep on a pallet in abelugo's garage. As far as Tom Sparks goes he is a original hot rodder. He built hotrods and raced midgets when he was young. He then retired from racing and went to work for eddie meyer, he was the flat head king. Back when, it was very cool (and fast) if you had a sparks flathead under your hood. He then opened his own shop and mostly did peeble beach stuff. He now is pretty much retired and now rent his cars out to hollywood. He also built 5 Tucker replicas for the movie. He is on the board of directors of the petterson museum and was also on the US olylimpic bicycle team. In his collection is a full suspension pierce arrrow bicycle from 1870 or somthing that is way cool. He knows everybody and anybody in the speed business, When I asked him if Django and I could stop by when he was in town, He said, "sure, I'll be back from Hershey the day before, Eddie and I are going to take his friends Gulfstream and fly out there". My response, "how many parts can you take back"? "oh I don't know there are only six of us going and its a pretty big plane". Tom said.
I usally spend a afternoon with him every few weeks he is a incredible person.
Oh by the way, Guess who's helping me build my flat head?
Damn had a blast just goin through all the Phot's... It was good to have you come by - anytime.... Had the Baby Boy Higg on Thursday back home gettin settled surf picked up and now its time to get back to work !#@$#@!#$@!#$@! Is there a way to make money just hangin out and workin on the car w/the occasional surf???? Keep in touch HIGG

Yeah I saw that pic. That looked awesome. Fastsporty and I were discussing what time the cops would show up and shut it down, what with the whole town being under the age of 15! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Sorry I didnt' get to officially introduce myself. I tried as you were leaving the P.Nats. I didn't see you around the shop either. Next time.

Chad, thanks for the pic's. Looks like you had fun.
that early part at the shop was tricky.
I had my wife and kids across the street
(where we live(
and they had a halloween party to go to,
so she was all stressed out.
in addition to the typical lag time,
of people and stuff,
it was a fun time,
and thanks for dropping by!
The cops weren't even that bad,
just a good excuse to get some work done!
