Looked at a 4" dropped axle today. It's in a 36 ford P/U. Right now it's a spring in front set up.
It's a complete set up, spring, axle(hub to hub w/ disc brakes), split bones, cross steering, vega box. Everything looks to be new. 500 bucks.
Now for the questions;
can this be changed to spring behind? and whats involved? How about mounting the spring to the bones? are these strong enough?
Would the cross steering raise clearance issues?
Can it be changed easily?
In the 36,the bones are mounted to the X member, about a foot apart. Would they need to be cut to spread them to the outside of the frame?
I'd be using this for my 33 P/U. I'm thinking a suicide type set up, with the spring behind the grill shell,& mounted to the bones. Do these sound like usable parts? or should I keep looking?
