Hey all. I came over from Jockey Journal, I just picked up a new toy ('59 F-100) and will be piecing it together for who knows how long. I got a kick out of the F-1 F-100 thread and thought I would go ahead and get on board.

This is the best shot I got available right now. But it was a daily driver until about 10 years ago when my Girl's dad parked it in the back yard. So last year he offered it to me for cheap. But we wound up moving to Utah and I never did get my greasy paws on it.

Well we returned and I got a hold of it. It is running a 292 2bbl with the three on the tree. I am planning on keeping the Y-block in there and fixing it up.

It wasn't too bad to get it running. Just added gas and turned the key. (There was more to it, but let me at least pretend that I know what I am doing here>)

Don't know what I will do with it quite yet. Right now I just want it road worthy enough to run the kids to school.

Thanks guys. This isn't the first car I have worked on, but I have never dug into a water pumper built before 66 (Falcon) and have spent most of my years driving and fixing Corvairs.

I cut my teeth on my dad's F-100's and such but never actually owned one myself.

I am over in the glorious Perris area, a town full of fun and culture. ;)

So far I have had to rebuild the carb, clean the tank out, replace fuel lines, and added an electric pump. I have the water pump pulled right now to replace it and flush out 15 year old water from the motor. This old truck has a lot of miles on it and has a ton of hokey fixes to it, but it wasn't really abused. It was a work truck for many years and has hauled its fair share of everything, but was parked when it needed more work than her dad had time and cash to do.

But when I cranked it up, that Y-block purred and no smoke out the tailpipes. And no random rattles or anything that concerns me about running the truck as-is for a while.

Here are a few more shots of the truck as she sits today.

Craptastic bed repair.

So for now it is all mechanical and electrical I am gonna worry about. I am going to pull the bed to repair the floor. And the bumpers will probably go away too. But the plan is to work on it and make it a decent daily kid getter.

Not bad for a Furd, I have a 57 Furd F-100 "push truck". Used to live in Riverside about 15 yrs ago. Place has changed big time with that 91/60 interchange. Well welcome to the HAMB and don't paint the truck black, Arnie will terminate you!
