iisues with one post

hey! i was opeing a post on the hokey ass message brd, and when it opened, it opened up 60 windows!!!!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

i couldnt even turn off my comp without having to shut it down from the box vs the start button. pls let us know if you or anyone else has this same issue.

Sounds like a virus or a bot. Maybe it's from looking at Too much porno....

Hey gal, update your virus scanner and run it, then go to www.download.com (http://www.download.com) and get two free programs called Adaware and Spybot. They are easy to download and install and they will remove the malware that is causing that to happen on your machine when you open a browser.

It's either a: not updated or b: running into one of these malware packages that is already running and causing it to fail.

If you know how to start your computer in Safe Mode (press F8 as the computer is starting) then go in that way and run your updated adaware and spybot. That should catch the critter a little more easily as most of them aren't able to start in Safe Mode.

Also, if you dowloaded your adaware more than about 3 months ago, there is a new version out. I use it on all my client's computers and it runs a bit more smoothly than the previous version.

Well, good luck doll. A defrag is never a bad thing anyway. I'm sure you've already tried it but clearing your browser caches can sometimes help too.

But if your scanners found some things then you probably have it well under control.
