What rear end is in a 57 packard clipper with an 289cui engine w/o supercharger? If it is your car what engine would you use to replace the 289, trad engines only and with manual trans?

It depends on your serial number on the rear end.

They changed them after # 5099 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Then they used the 58 style.
