Hello all!
First of all pardon me for my poor english! :(
I'm a 31 years old guy from Paris, France and I'm just crazy about traditional built hot rods or kustoms. I'm into a car club named "french connection", a bunch of friends that's into dragster, mostly mopar: http://www.frenchconnectionteam.com/ (http://www.frenchconnectionteam.com/modules/news/)
I currently own a 1971 chevy caprice four door hardtop in medium condition with a stock 400ci SB mill. I plan to rebuild and slightly upgrade that engine to gain some lil' horses and be able to put a lot more kilometers on the odometer! Being a non-into-mechanic-stuf guy I want to learn essentials during the process of redoing the motor with a really talented friend of mine that has built many excellent race cars... Including a low 9 sec street legal 1970 challenger... And building this kind of cars 'round here IS a tough challenge, belive me! :D
This is what my ride looks like for now:

And this is what I plan to do esthetically:

Air bags on four corners, radir (or other 5 spokes classic wheels) + whitewalls. I'll also make a new paint but did'nt decided what color for now... But that will be with a lace painted hardtop for sure, 'coz I love that look!
I Know that building a traditional custom car means starting from a car built before 1966, and I suppose mine could'nt wear the "traditional" tag to major oldskool gearheads, but it's so hard to find a cheap good conditionned 60's car in france... And in fact, four door 70's caprices ARE cheap here.
Thanx for reading!
