View Full Version : When did Chevy use Chevy orange?

v8's 55 thru 76........77 was blue/green[the beginning of the end]

All the paint companies have their versions of the color "chevy orange" that they sell. Mid 70's brought on the blue.

Actually the V8 engines in 55-56-57 maybe up to 58 or 59 were red. The orange came later. I restored a few early Corvettes and I remember finding the correct red took a little research, which I have since lost. Check out some of the Chevy restore sites. overspray

And I believe some of the mid to late 50's trucks used the old stovebolt gray on the small blocks.
