Not too many days left. Finally stopped raining here in the mideast but cccoldd. 26 degrees this morning. The frost was so thick it looked like snow on everything. Jumped in the coupe for the eighty mile round trip to work with no heater and fire the flatty right up! Turned off the electric fan to heat the engine some with no thermostats on this engine and started on my journey. After the engine reached 120 degrees it stayed there the whole trip. I usually an bellyaching when things aren't right on the board I thought I brag alittle. The coupe ran smoother than it ever did. Was taking the gas perfectly and sounded as smooth as silk.I kept the fan off the whole trip and the engine maintained the 120 degree limit. I can see these engines really like the cool weather. Oh.. its great to be a Friday and driving an old rod for some of the last trips for the year. And yes I made it. I made the whole driving season...Life is good and flattys are Great!!
here's a pic in the lot @ work

Also nothing like a cold running flathead to cause wear problems and gummy oil.
Get the temp up to 180.
