Haven't seen it, but MINI cars are using monster hot rod art in their print ads, so it could be for the Mini.

If we can keep this at the top, maybe some of my fellow CTers will fill us in, How about it Mr. Coleman. or of course Mr. O'B http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I took the long way home and checked it out this morning. As guessed it's a monster advt. for Cooper Minis. Not much of a HOT ROD.

I think I saw it on the way back from the Stafford swap. Said something like "Let's reinvent the Hot Rod."

I grew up there, on Kenyon St. in the west end right between Asylum Av. and Elizabeth St., a stone's throw from Elizabeth Park.

I checked out the Mini Web sites and they are using a Ed Roth or Robert Williams style charactures sic in a new advertizing campaign. They supposedly have collector cards of the various pieces of "art". Go figure. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Well I was born and brought up in Milford - is that close enough?
I was in Hartford last Sunday doing a cancer walk but I didn't see the billboard.
Thanks for going out of your way grandpa Bill:)

Deyomatic...I grew up in Milford...like 15 minutes from New Haven. I now reside in the upper class city of Bridgeport.

That is not what I've heard about Bridgeport. Well, I couldn't hear anything over the gunshots! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Just kidding. I grew up in Uncasville, home of Mohegan Sun, but what I miss the most about Ct/New England is Pepe's. Well, Pepe's and the Road Agents Rockabilly Rumble.

Bob Barry lives in that area and has been building hot rods for 25+ years. Bill Leone lives in Uncasville - had a 34 mordoor sedan wiyh Potter trunk for 20 years now has a 41 Ford convert. They both weree/are members of the Golden Rods club.
Just thought you might have run across them.

Nope, I haven't lived there since I was about 11 (1989), LONG before I ever really bacame a car guy.
So, my residence there doesn't really count. Of all the New England states, Ct. is the only one I think I could live in again.

I think this thread explains the billboards.
