Been checking the Jalopy Journal & HAMB regularly since the 'slick' days and have been enlightened, entertained, and inspired by everyone here. What finally pushed me into joining was 'povertyflats' 1931 Pontiac coupe find and the entries that followed. 'loc8tor's comments were especially interesting to me because I am building a 1931 Pontiac Sport Coupe somewhat like his vision. I started with a '57 Olds J2 (couldn't find an affordable 421), Turbo 350, narrowed '57 Pontiac rear with '62 3:08 posi, drilled I-beam with finned Buick drums over repop '39 Lincoln backing plates, and 15" chrome reverse wheels. Plans are for a 3" chop and no fenders.

My other car is a 1959 Bonneville Sport Coupe that we've had since 1977.

Welcome aboard Tim, I can relate to the Poncho addiction, my pontiac passion started back in the 60's and still lives today. I've got a 1939 convertible on the Hamb for sale this month. It's tuff finding parts for the Pontiacs though..I love the coupe man! John

Tim,

Welcome from Tennessee! Rarerodder here with the black 31 Pontiac coupe on P.F. thread. Word of warning, this forum is addictive. And, if you search for 1929 or 1930 Pontiac you'll find several posts from all us early Pontiac nuts. Look forward to chattin with ya!

Thanks guys. Rarerodder, don't know if you remember me but you bought a dash light from my '31 Pontiac from me a number of years ago. And you are right, this forum IS addictive. The past several weeks of temps 25 degrees or less have made it hard to leave a warm room with a computer for a cold building to work on the coupe.

Hi Tim, yes I do, good to hear from ya! But, what I can't remember is how we got in touch with each other to begin with. I'm sure somehow I chased you down once I discovered you had Pontiac parts:D. However, glad you're here!
