I had a wheel balanced last week and asked if they could do wide 5s. He said yes and showed me the adapter for tractor wheels.

I think the adapter is to dismount/remount tractor tires, but also works to balance wide 5s. For your front wheels, you could take the balancer your wheel and brake drum bolted together, no bearings.

Doesn't Speedway sell an adaptor to mount a wide 5 to a regular axle? That should work too, if your tire shop does not have one.

If you can drive the car, some shops can balance them while on the car. They just put up on the lift and put the machine in place. Otherwise I second the VW places.

You might ask Alan Mest in Gardena if he can recommend somebody. Alan has an amazing collection of early V8s and pieces of same.
