I've been a member for a while, but never formally introduced myself. So with no further ado, my name is Robert and I live in Ventura, Ca. I was raised in Salinas, Ca. I was born into a car family. My dad has always had a passion for tasteful cars of all type, mainly drag cars. Needless to say it rubbed off. From ages 5-8 I raced Quarter Midgets. Then I got into riding BMX. At 15 years old I bought my first truck, a 1962 GMC, which I still own. At 16 I had a short stint at Salinas Boyz. Sweeping floors, cleaning up after Cole and Aaron, and watching. At 17 years old I worked at my dads shop changing oil and sweeping more floors. At 18 I apprenticed for Bruce Terry at Classic Metal Speciaties. Then at 19 I went to work at Racecar Research in Salinas. Later that year I moved to Ventura to learn to tig weld. There I got hooked up with John Farr of Farrs Racing and Rods. I worked for John the last 5 years, and had a great time. At the start of the year we decided to work independently under the same roof, so he could be semi-retired and I can start my business. Boulevard Speed and Specialty was born. I will post soon with a description of our services and some pictures. Thanks for reading.

Welcome from southern Illinois. I too had a quarter midget as a kid, but owned mine in the early 60's.

It's about time you do an intro Beto
Robert has been a lurker for a longtime, I think everytime I go visit him in Ventura I show him something on the HAMB.. Robert is surrounded by many great guys that have helped him become a talented fabricator.. His dad is a world class drag racer and his boss/friend John Farr is an amazing fabricator and person (like Kiwi Kev said)...
I'm glad to call Robert a good friend, more like brother actually. I'll post some pics too when I get a chance...

ps. If you've seen me at car shows in So Cal with a young bearded dude wearing a flannel, that was Robert.. that's why we call him the Lumberjack.. haha
