Pleased to be back into rodding after 15 years, however , man is it exspensive. Even breaking up stuff to steal parts is just so darn expensive. I built a 31 five window back in 84, hard to believe that's 25 years already, give or take a year. Anyway, here we go, I bought a speedway frame a small block chevy a 55 f100 dropped axle and spindles, a rear coil over set from Speedway and Mr Roadster front spring with shackles and pivots from Speedway. I am out a grand now with shipping total. I said when I wen into ot again that I wouldn't make teh same mistakes I did when I built the 31 coupe, but I am already rushing and settling. For example, I settled for a small block instead of a big block. and I also feel that if I F-100 rollingaxle, instead now, I am building everything from scratch, as I don't have backing plates , brake guts or drums. Man, I was on such a high, then I received my king pin set, and the pins slide right through the axle bosses; I guess I now know why the guy truly seperated all pieces. SO what is teh answer? Well. machine shop, and probably another 120.00 buck for bushings and fitting. I am not lost, I just am surprised at the prices.
