Hi guys, just a wee message to say hello and introduce myself.
I was recommended this site by a fellow stovebolter.
My name is John but most folk down here call me Jock! I'm a 40 something from the small west coast village of Dundonald in Scotland and have been rodding my 50 Chevy 3100 for ever it seems!
I hope to have it on the road in some form this year! It's been a slooow build!
It's a refugee from Ca. so rust hasn't been too much of a problem. It's my first major project so it's been a steep(expensive) learning curve!
I look forward to meeting a few of you folks over the next few weeks/months/years!

Hey Jock, welcome from southern California. We want our truck back! Kidding around here a bit but you are in the right place to help get it running and save some money.
Advise you to use the search feature ALOT before posting questions. Lots of great info. here.

Good luck with OUR truck  and post some more pics when you can. Greasy

Thanks for the welcome guys....Greasy64, you aint gettin' it back! :p
You guys still have plenty left over there!
Here's a link to my Flickr site, sorry it's not totally traditional but it's the way I want it. The bodywork is staying stock though.
I'm still undecided about wheels though, the dollar exchange is a bit rough for us Brits at the moment!

Any comments/constructive criticisms are welcome.

Thanks again

Here's a favorite:
I have drank to your health in Taverns,
I have drank to your health in my home,
I have drank to your health so many times,
That I have almost ruined my own!
Cheers!

Welcome Jock- Anyone tell you about the tradition here that if we come over you have to let us drive your truck. Just kidding, it must be cool to drive that thing around Scotland!

kein... It's not quite on the road yet, a few more months and a lot more $$$$ !!

If your ever in this neck of the woods, sure you can have a shot!
Good thing is,it'll certainly turn heads when it is. They're a pretty rare beast over here! I can't wait!

Fast Elvis.....I was in London Ont. Waaay back in '77, I got family over there! I remember going out on a cruise with my cuz Jim. He had a big old Pontiac Le Mans, we smoked the tyres for about 100ft right up the street.
Kinda got me hooked on this Hot Rod deal!

Fish Tank.....I'll drink to that!

Thanks 66 Newport....The pic on my avatar is when I got it. It's currently in bits in my garage!
It's had a serious 'altitude adjustment' since then! The running boards are at a 'cruising ' height of 5", going to 1" at full drop. Even a lowered bare chassis looks cool
I hope to get the cab back on in a couple of weeks, just need to finish and paint the firewall. Then the serious bodywork begins.......
