Need monitor help.....

A bit O/T, but if my monitor isn't working, I can't look at the HAMB, right??

My monitor (a couple years old, 17" Dell - not flatscreen) will randomly go into a screeching fit. The screen is fine, nothing gets fuzzy, no distortion or disscoloration. It just starts screeching. Sometimes it's quiet, sometimes it's louder than hell. And it's definately the monitor...

So is this something I can take apart and fix, or is it dying?

BE CAREFUL!taking apart a computer monitor because even if its unplugged it holds enough power to kill you-this is what a computer geek told me when I had a monitor all apart and was trying to fix it so be careful if your like me and going to do it anyway ,also if its a dell it has a warranty
