They are a very old company that is rooted in hot rods.
But on the same note so was Crower..... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

yeah i see they advertise "since '46"
I also noticed Al Teage's car has Speed-O-Motive on the side, is that related to them or not.
What was the story on Crower?

I've used them quite a bit over the years. Never had any problems.

Same Speed-O-Motive that used to sponsor Al Teague's streamliner.

I have bought parts from them over 35 years and have had no complants.I have not bought anything in the last 4 to 5 years I am still using up my stock of in shop parts They buy in large quantys of parts they get a discount on large buys and pass it on to customers. In the early 60.s they had a 301 chevrolet short block for 99 dollars.

hey - also look in this months Super Chevy Magazine - they are doing all the wrenching on the 2004 Danger Mouse. I just got mine today. Look on their website too - they have a good tech article on their motor building philosophy.

I ordered a short block from them. They'll never get another dime of my money. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
They told me the short block would be at my door in 5 - 6 weeks, it took 6 1/2 months. I got it together and fired it up... they put the wrong fuckin rear main seal in it, sprayed oil everywhere, had to pull the motor back apart of course. It's a 400 SBC, and when you align bore (or hone) the block you need to put in an oversize rear seal. Well they put the oversize seal in alright... funny thing is they forgot to align bore the block (which I was charged for), so the main cap just crushed the oversize seal. I called 'em and the guy says "Oh... Sorry. We can send you the right seal if you'd like...". That got me thinkin, so the next time I had the motor apart I checked, and the block, which was supposed to be squared and zero decked hasn't been decked at all, and you know what??? I paid for it to be done! I'd heard all kinds of good things about the company, and I bet if I said "I'm so and so from such and such magazine..." The service and quality would've been everything I'd hoped for. When you're just the average Joe, you see how things work. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
