I was told to do this- with eng off push in on the round "button" on side of cable[at throttle body bracket end] with a screwdriver etc and pull accelerator to floor and release this "button". this will set it"by the way -my truck did not respond to that easy trick-[it shifted late and very hard]- I did it this way-It is too tight/Push on the "circle" on the side of the cable where it goes into throttle cable mount bracket. this releases the knotches that hold the cable in adjustment- let it back[looser] a few knotches and test drive. it should shift 1-2-3 in about 30 mph or so. drive it on up to 60 and mash it to make sure it will kick into passing gear. after you are happy with the shift points make sure it the cable is clean at the throttle body end as it can slip if it is oily and dirty. a new one may be in order if it slips. On my ol '88 chev shop truck I put a short drywall screw into the adjust point to hold it from moving. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[shame shame] http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gifoh well it works!
