I have been lurking longer than I want to admit. I voted for Sam and Don in last year’s ego-rama and Don and Denise this year. I have sent money to Honest twice to help keep the board going. Computer stupid ( 31 rodder is helping me post pic) and a piss pour speeler has kept from posting. So after meeting some of you this summer at Bonneville and the HAMB Drags I figured better do my intro.

Still married to my high school sweetheart, two kids, one grandchild. I am an office manager at a two-way radio shop. My current rides are a `40 Chevy convertible, 2” folding chopped top, nose and decked, widened front fenders to clear TA front stub, headlight bucket resized and sunk back. (after seeing what Cletus has done to his 40 I have been thinking about turning it to a tail dragging kustom.) The `28 Roadster is what I had at B-ville and the HAMB Drags. The reason for the slow ET ( 19.10 at 66 mph) is a 2300 cc 4 cylinder with and A4LD overdrive trans that I control 3-4 gear shift and lock up the converter with dash mounted toggle switches. My current project is a 26 T Lakes modified that I narrowed 4” and stretched 2”, setting on `31 Chevy frame rails. A 35 Chevy 3 window cope is waiting in the loft of the house garage after the T is completed.

I do my sheet metal welding with oxy acetylene torch , hammer and dolly. The wire feed is used for chasse and bracket. fabrication. Having access to an older lath and overhead mill also helps.

I have learned from lurking and I hope I can add my 2 cents every once and awhile.

I will try and post a few pics of my rides.

Hi bud! Glad to see you finally coming out of lurker statis. I LOVE your 40. Topless is the only way to travel! Looking forward to checking it out in person one of these days. I do have a shot of your roadster that I took on the salt that I'll post.

Again, welcome to the HAMB!

Right on Hatch…… I think that is exactly what he has in mind.

Tom is the guy that I was calling every other day when I was building my roadster. He was about the only guy in ND that knew anything about how to put together a trad rod, so I should take this opportunity to publicly thank him for all the advice I got from him …….. I even took some of it. He was also a great navigator this summer on our trip to B'ville and the HAMB drags. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome to the HAMB.

You now can exclude the words “free time” from you dialogue. As I found, any “free time” you may have had before will now be occupied by the HAMB.

Hey Tom, its about damn time you show your face! So you finally got the final version of your intro done, eh? So, you've got the shop ready for us for the pre-NDSRA party party? Make sure you've got all of the exhaust fans goin strong! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bout damn time!!!! Tom happens to be one of the coolest dirt farmers I know. For a backwards hick from North Dakota he knows his shit. Who else could make a combine steering box work on his modified? He also knows that I am yankin his chain(the combine part is true) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Velkommen Tom! You see my post about the Sturgis reliability run next summer?

nice cars, especially the modified, is that the longest pitman arm in the world or is there something I'm missing?

hatch thanks for the photoshop- you nailed it

Wowcars, right now the shop is in paint booth mode, should be ready to party by Jan. Maybe we won't use the exhaust fan nothing like second hand cigar smoke. The before pic of the 40 is after I got it home and at my place. I still have one of the 2 door sedans in the backround.

Christian, your right dam long arm, but to make the angle and ratio work with the box I used it's what I needed.

Trent, I'll deal with you later. ha ha

Oh ya, to rest thanks for the welcomes.

Who's TomH?? I call him "Tommy 2 tone". My only regret is-- I moved to Bismarck 12 years ago,(I lived on the other side of the state) and didn't get to know Tom till then. I'll second the nomination for most knowledgeable traditional rodder in North Dakota and probably a few extra square miles outside the borders. Welcome to a real good guy!! (With a little more of my "Norwegian" influence you might even get better). The H.A.M.B. will definately benefit from your experience!! overspray
