Has anyone seen this?

It's pretty funny. The bidding's also already topped $10,000.

Is this the kind of thing that's been posted a lot already? If so, I apologize.

That's pretty damn hilarious. Must be pretty slow if it's already gotten it's doors blown off!

Well, I think I am going to hijack this post and post an off topic picture that I wanted to share but didn't want to start a new post on the HAMB.

Check out this car I saw driving around North Arlington last friday. Arlington is a city between Dallas and Ft Worth for you non Texas guys.

I did not photoshop this at all. Those things are like 26 or 27 inch wheels. This thing was absurd crazy looking!

We have a pair of those Regals down here, huge wheels and gucci handbag material vinyl tops and dash covers. There's a Cutlass Supreme done up the same way with some other material my G.F. recognized.

Truly awful

I had an idea once, can an electrical guy tell me if this would work.

a 24 volt marine or forklift battery, a pair of extendable TV antennas, thick rubber gloves, a set of jumper cables and a pick-up truck full of beer and rednecks*.

Connect jumper cables to battery in the bed of the pick-up, connect other end to TV antennas, have designated redneck don rubber gloves, pull up next to hideous Regal with the loud stereo at a light, take a good long swig of beer, extend antennas, touch metal parts of hideous Regal. pull designated redneck back in pick-up bed and drive like hell.

Would the 24 volts zap the stereo? if not WHAT WOULD? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

* The term "redneck" was not meant in a bad way, typing "one of my fearless, drunk friends" was going to take too long.

No.

Take note of the birdies sitting on power lines.
Up to about 16,000 volts (16kv) no problems.
They sit on 33kv at times, but above that the electrical field drives them away.

What I think you need is a focused radar beam.
Course, you'd have to be careful you didn't hurt the driver of the offending car....

I have the same problem with big stereo (litle weaner) brigade at the beach at the end of my road, what you need is an electro magnetic pulse, kill stereo and the lil jap car with the big exhaust its in at once http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif unfortunatly I can't seem to find an inexpensive, non radioactive way to do it !!!! on another note someone did recommend spraying some "expand it " or similar spray can expandble foam up their exhaust (with a long tube so you can't see it http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif ) makes the car no go......

Back to tthe topic, hell at 10k each I can get about 10 of those swept up off the local roads and in a 40' to the USA quicker then you can say it, jsut send the cash my way now http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif:)

I just drove by a rim shop on Whittieeeeeeerrrrrr Boulivaaaaaaarrrrd!!! that had a quad with those 20" ("bane-taze") rims that have the thing that floating thing that spins different than the tire rotation on it. People were getting killed for those things and now they put them on quads.

i hope you guys got the intentional humor built into that honda...

as far as the ricers and stuff goes, there are a relative few (admittedly a relative few, far more are the "geniuses" that we see daily) that are no less dedicated than ANYBODY here, but drive different cars. they've got a tech forum surprisingly like this one, and they hate the bling bling fast and furious bullshit as much, if not more than we do because they get lumped into that stupid, stupid bullshit.

my much older brother used that forum to help him turn a little civic hatchback that he bought new to get him to work because every other dealership treated him like shit into something just short of a road or rally race car, from upgraded suspension to oversized disk brakes all around, to a tasteful, quiet performance exhaust and intake setup, AND a car worthy or respect from any real car guy. his new four cylinder that myself and two other V8 junkies, ironically, helped him swap came directly from japan where it was sold exclusively and has 170 hp with 1.6 liters, dohc and vtec which is pretty bad ass when you get it between 5500 to 8200 rpm, and even cooler when you hang a big shift in that light little car and experience the same loss of traction that we enjoy. same shit, different car.

ricers are to rockasilly posers (as bitched about on the HAMB) as, for lack of a better term, the "real import tuners" are to many people that we admire, know, or see on this forum

the real funny part of that ebay auction was all the stupid bastards that didn't get the joke and voiced their opinions to the gentleman that built that joke. i think someone on here said he actually builds or races some pretty evil and exotic shit.

I'm surprised you don't know... those are "Dubba Dubs", or "twenty-twos" in english. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I work in the ghetto of Flint. I see gay ass cars with wheels that are worth 4 times the price of the car ALL the time!

Hey Hot Rod to Hell,

We got 'em like roaches here in Chi-Town. We're starting to see them for sale in the local Antique/Custom Traders.

$9000 tires and rims on $1500 '79 Malibu's. Go figure? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
