i'm building a 31 tudor sedan. well, trying to build this thing. it's gonna have a custom 2x3 frame, but both the guys that were gonna weld it up for me bailed. (i don't trust my welding skills when it comes to the frame) i'm at a standstill until i get a frame. got all the running gear and body, just nothing to attatch it all to!

i've got all the steel cut, except for the notches in the front rail for the 3" round cross member. but i do have a brand new 3" hole saw ready to go.

anybody in the seattle area done this before? anyone wanna help me out? i'm real good at holding things in place, handing you tools, and beers....

Hmmm...I think I might know of someone. If you take Market street toward Shilshole there is a big day spa place called Habitude on the left hand side (kind of a funny orange and blue, I think). Just before that building you can turn left. On the left hand side there is a guy by the name of Wolf who is opening a garage that does some top chopping & rod work. I'd swing by and talk w/ him. He seems to be a pretty solid guy & his hourly rate is going to be pretty reasonable. I'm sure he would come to your place to work on your rod as well.

Someone else to try is Marty at NW Customs northwestcustoms.net

He's in Portland, but comes to Seattle often and is a really nice guy. And man is he ever talented! Just take a look at the stuff he has built on his site.

I suppose the other thing you could do is just open up the yellow pages & go that route.

Good luck

thanks for the feedback guys!

i may have to go check out this wolf fellow. he's only a couple of miles from me.

i was really hoping to find someone who wanted to do this in their garage, (and let me learn, and help) as opposed to just dropping it off and picking it up from some shop. see, i want to be involved in every aspect of this cars build.

i guess if i have to, i'll bite the bullet and just drop the material off somewhere. it's been almost 3 months since i was SUPPOSED to have the frame welded!! i really need to get rolling so i can meet my self imposed deadline of a spring time finish date.

hey VAP, good to here from you. i've met marshal once or twice. i may have to look him up.

You might also try Walrus Machine 4010 Leary way, just north of Hales Ales. He does real good work, just takes a bit of time to do it--so I've heard.

I know a guy in Poulsbo who does frame work, mostly for the 4x4 crowd. http://www.jantz4x4.com/ He doesn't say anything about frame work on his site, but I've seen his work and know he does it.

Hey Eric,
My bro who lives on 60th nd 20th, or 62nd and 20th, or whatever is an architecht in a design / build firm. He does some pretty heavy duty industrial welding from time to time. I'll give him a ring and see if he is available if you want. His metal shop where all the welding takes place is over in the International district though...
