I guess this is the site for me, looks like my kinda cars. I been scrounging parts for my dream cars for a long time and finally got the kids outta the house and got me a place with a big shop so maybe I can get started on something. I scored a 390 Caddy motor a while ago and have a 303 Olds under the bench and can't decide which one to put in the 40 coupe I found in a back yard in Wyoming.
I'm thinking I need to take the 305 Chevy (yuck) out of the 54 Stude coupe that I horsetraded for and stuff the Caddy in it and put the Olds in the 40. Last time I had a Caddy in an old Ford (ok, it was several Presidents ago) I kept breaking axle keys. (I think anybody that would put a 305 Chevy in anything, much less a Studebaker, ought to be horsewhipped.)
Found (or re-found, I should say) this site while doing a search for info on my old late friend Clyde Sturdy. Used to go down to his shop in LA and drool over the Bonneville stuff back in my Midget racing days. Got to go now and get the tractor started so the old lady can plow the driveway.
