Well here you go.

Who said customs aren't allowed in the show -they are if they're old enough:)

If you saw this you were right across from our "home base" in the Chocolate Annex (that was my Dodge Magnum across the aisle)

Can anyone identify this? Big Pete bought several and has no idea what they're for originally. Not threaded internally - may not even be automotive.

You think the street rodders are getting old - typical sight at Hershey:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v222/DOBrien/Hershey%202004/15.jpg

So they've got their own version of the young rodder thing going on and they had Barry helping give it some publicity

Bling Bling is not a new thing:

So you thought the Bitchin cast aluminum firewall was a new idea? How about this Duesy....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v222/DOBrien/Hershey%202004/18.jpg

And last, but by no means least, this Bugatti had to be the most awesome car on the field. This was a factory hot rod with no expense spared. The attention to detail on this car was incredible!!!

Think the '63 Vette was the first split window?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v222/DOBrien/Hershey%202004/21.jpg

Everything was chromed, polished or engine turned. Notice the side mounted blower.

How about this for a blower drive?

Dennis...sorry I didn't see you but I woulda been staring at the Plymouth sedan delivery. That thing is just perfect. Just goes to show you, you don't have to have what everybody else has to have a nice car. That Bugatti is nice too.

Well it wasn't perfect Clark. It was missing a hub cap that the guy lost in Ohio. I was talking to him and he said he looked all week and didn't find a replacement at Hershey. But the funny thing was that his wife found it at home and called to tell him! Bet he'll buy the next one he sees now that he knows how easy they are to lose and hard they are to find!

As a side note - we were at the rod run in RI today and my wife asks me where our spare tire is. I look and sure enough it's not in the fenderwell. First guess is that our friends are having some fun. But on closer examination I see that the bolt that held it on is snapped off. So somewhere between Charlton Mass and Johnston RI is a specially narrowed wheel with SS cap and beauty ring http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I just hope it didn't hit someone going 80!!!

GREAT shots Dennis! Hershey was a lot of fun this year, my 35th time there. The AACA has a class for factory prototypes, I'm sure that is were the red convertable was. Thought I'd get to judge another dry lakes car this year in the race car class, but there weren't any. Nice of the guy to show that Duesenberg without the body. Missed the Bugatti Type 57SC but your photos are as good as being there. I worked on the twin to this car years ago, note the hand scraped checkerboard pattern on the crankcase and cam boxes. This takes a lot of time and your hands take a real beating, sure looks cool when it is done. Was the red roadster in the trailer the real deal or a clone?

The great thing about Hershey is I saw the bugatti sitting in traffic to get in. I love that the trailer parking is a mile away and you must drive in. I love hearing the steamers coming down the road. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think the roadster is a clone Bob but I'm not sure. The Bugatti was easy to miss - it was so covered with people I got tired of waiting so more pictures didn't happen. It was a treat to look at though and you're right, that patterned etching that looks like engine turning but isn't was impressive.

Great pictures..........I left my camera at home this year.Spent 4 days walkin' my ass OFF! Saw that shorty 'vair over in the blue field and DROOLED over that '40 sedan delivery. There was some SERIOUS money changin' hands over in the auction http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Should be 1936-37, I'll check my Hershey program if I can find it. I didn't get to see this one, the center fin is different than the others I've seen. Checkout the photos on the other Bugatti thread that Metalshapes just posted. They show the common riveted fin down the roof and on top of the fenders.
