Hey,
If I'm lucky I will have just posted a pic of the offending article, wheels are 16's but owner odesn't seem to know anything much else..... can anyone ID from the pic ? its all I have, seller is at the other end of the country and its been under a trailer, anyone ever converted one back to car use ?

"I dont know what it is off. Steering joints have been welded, I assume for use under a trailer. Well worn, not to bolt in and drive off!"

It don't look familiar to my stuff as in early Ford. The F2 front I had looked similar as in parallel leafs but don't recall the back plate look. even so the wires wouldn't have fit as the bolt pattern went smaller with the parallel leafs for quite a few years. If it is 5 hole on 5.5" center, could be an econoline or other pre twin I beam pickup axle with pre-'37 wires. I do have a chevrolet 16" wire, has a 6 hole pattern and that may be what you have.

Thanks for the info, I know it was a long shot..... will ask howmany wheel studs there are.
I would figure pre WW2 as there wasn't much came down after only trucks in the 40/Jailbar style.

Hmmm, I also have a dodge that I only mention because it has the bolt on steer arms. I don't see where they are cut off on this one, the early Ford are a forged part of the spindle. Maybe the welds can be cut and the king pins tightened up, get some steering arms from speedway..
If it is a chebby and you want an extra wheel the one I have is available for the cost of postage.
