I need to know where I can get a bellhousing adapter for a chevy 250 motor to a early 47-54 chevy truck tranny.

I'm thinking you can use a 250 bellhousing and it will bolt up to a 47-54 TRUCK trans.
I've got a 67-72 Chevy V8 truck bellhousing with a 50 model truck trans bolted to it.

The exact year does make a difference. I think there are three different situations.
Pre '48 I don't know the answer.
GM changed transmissions starting in '48, and the '48 and later transmissions will bolt to most Chevy V-8 type bellhousings (which are also correct for your 250).
In '54 the crossmember that the bellhousing mounts to is different than the earlier years. The '54 crossmember will easier take a later type V-8 bellhousing using OEM parts. The earlier crossmember might be made to work, but it will be more work.
IF the 250 came out of a '60s truck it could already have been hooked to the right bellhousing.
I don't recall all the exact details and exceptions, but I'm sure someone will address anything important that I've missed.
