216 to 250 engine swap

Has anyone swapped a 216 chevy to a1977 nova 250? I would like an newer engine but I don't want to install complete drive train. I have a 1948 chevy car. Thanks

I have a '51 and would like to do the same thing. I think the trans is going to be a problem. I don't know if I can use a different bell housing and make it work or what. Going to browse and see if anyone knows.
