Monkey,

For basics, standard Flathead V8 tricks work on the V860 - might try searching for midget racers??

There's a chap that's been advertising V8-60 stuff in the back of CC on and off for a few years, including a midget racer. He's based in Stourbridge, West Mids. He may be worth giving a call.

i`ve seen those ads...also theres a guy selling a shed load of parts on the UK NSRA forum.....this is gonna be my first real strip down and rebuild and i wanna be `educated` before i fuck it up...its a long term thing cause i want at least one summer/show season with the `t` before taking it off the road.....if you`ve got this months American Rodder turn to page 40 and thats what i`m aiming for

Try the Fordbarn Early V-8 Forum at http://www.fordbarn.com/earlyv8/forum03/. Lots of expertise (i.e., OF's) there http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

there was a complete v-8 60 looked like it could run, at the Canby swap last sunday for $450. never saw anyone take a second glance at it. Except me. I didn't want to talk to the guy or I'd be paying some kid to haul it to my car lol http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Get yourself a copy of Tex Smith's "The Complete Ford Flathead V8". That has a small chapter on the V8-60 that may be of use. It lists a few owners and builders in the text as well as a complete engine spec.

I mailed the bloke on the NSRA site about his midget stuff for a friend of mine who's s ticking a V860 in a model Y.
If your this way, we can pop over - it's only in Bury St. Edmunds.
