View Full Version : Gotta love a good woman!
Just had a little chat with Carla, my lovely wife of 10+ years. I say chat because I didnt have to plead my case long at all. You see, I am so close to finishing the Touring. I have been holding off on guages due to teh cost...gulp. Also need an Optima Battery (I traded some stuff for a finned Bitchin Battery box) . So tonight I mentioned what I needed, and without any hesitation, she said just order it up!
This makes me feel really good, this time last week, we thought she lost her Gov't. Contract which amounted to 1/3 of our annual income! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Gotta love em!

Actually Briggs, I am sold onthe Optima. Like I said I happened to trade some stuff for the box. One of our regulars, winters in Az, he had an Optima that he let sit and go dead in his coupe for 10 WINTERS!!!! Each year he charged it and it worked!!!!!!!

I bought my Optima at Interstate battery, it was considered a "second" BTW they sure hold their charge, mine sat in storage for 5 mo and it had great cranking power the first time I turned the key .In my opinion its worth the money, considering most aftermarket batteries are junk

GOOD WIMMENS are gettin skeerce http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gifTdude=better keep her.
A TIP=if your battery is dead and wont take a charge. drain some acid out and pour in some fresh NEW Bat acid and recharge -most often it will work fine!

Dangit Kenny,
Now you tell me...
r
Same thing happened to me the other night..
Me: Honey, I want to spend $ on a Model A frame...
Her: Is it all rusty and stuff?
Me: Uhhh... well... yeah..
Her: Is it a fair price, you think?
Me: Sure..
Her: Ok.
This is after we just talked about not having much money at the end of the month, but she knows that my project is keeping me sane, with what happens at work. She looks out for me, good woman.

Hmmmmm, men are so tuff, virile, muscle-bound, grow hair on their chest and faces, boast of big balls and literally take no shit from anyone...yet, when it comes to holding the purse strings (and spending some of it)...comes the question of having to ask...why is that?

Well, it's a 2 way street, she better not spend $100 on clothes or whatever without talking to me first. I can push some people around, but I've got to live with her.

You are a lucky man! My wife used to be like that, I never had to beg for parts or cars, if the money was their I'd get it. She would always come home and tell me about old cars she's seen for sale and drag me out for a look. She's been gone now for 3 years and it seems like yesterday. So love em while you have em. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

<font color="green">Cool ones are hard to find.
When I was procurring the Trike-O-Doom he said he wanted to trade something "cool".
I told him the only "cool" thing I have is MAMA RASH, and she won't leave!
You suppose that wife of yours is cool enough to order up a set of gauges for me as well?

I know how it is, T...I just thot it was strange how we're supposed to be so tuff, yet have to ask for spending money...
I realize there's a thin line between love and hate...I've been on the receiving end of that hate cuz I NEVER asked to spend my own money!!!

I don't know what you're talking about "grass don't grow on the playground"

My wife does'nt really do cartwheels over rusty old junk like I do, but lately a strange phenomenon has been occuring. When we are riding together (especially in the country) she is actually looking out in the pastures and beside the barns for old tin for me. Furthermore when I jam on the brakes and bang a 180 she does'nt complain much especially if I treat her to ice cream when we hit the next town. Life is good and I am a very lucky man!
