Gday guys
Ive got the front end and eng/trans mounts sorted on the roadster and want to make a set of ladder bars for the rear. Does anyone have a plan or pics? Here in Australia most guys opt for a triangulated four bar or parallel four bar rear , I havent got much to go on...
Thanks
Steve

Imagine the letter 'A'. Now add more cross bars, usually at angles so the bars touch on opposite ends. Or use flat plate cut to nice shapes to serve as the center pieces

take a look at Pete & Jakes rear ladder bars in their catalog , they are not hard to copy.. they use 7/8" OD DOM tubing

These are what I'm using...

I drew up a set for a 115" wheelbase car (my '50). I basically stole Competition Engineerings design, just to make my own set. I can draw you up a set any length you want. I'll PM you a picture (too large to attach here)
EDIT: had to email it to the address in your profile
I'm using a similar setup to Mutt's but adjustable and with hiem ends...

What car are you building? If you use pararlell leaf springs, the axle needs to rotate or everything will bind.

The bars i drew are able to pivot in the front, on a leaf sprung car they need to be able to move fore/aft but not up/down to prevent binding. I can not get a good picture small enough to post here.
