Hey guys....
Anyone ever used an (Litterio) L 100 cam in an 8BA? I scored one recently on - its reground on an original 8BA core form the original master - these cams date back to he 50's.
I believe they're a killer sounding/pulling cam without the usual low speed driveability probs u get with the increased overlap.
Anyone used one?

I'm using one in a bored out '37 21 stud. It's been ported and has the 8BA crank, rods and pistons. It's installed in a 31 roadster. I absolutly love that cam. It has an awesome lope that really turns heads. It pulls great from around 1800 RPM thru ????? I've only reved it to slighly over 4500 except for the one time it tickled 5000+. With the 23 pound flywheel it gets away from you a little. On the highway it settles down to a nice ride at 2500. I'm running 12 inch glaspacs so there are plenty of great sounds.

I wonder, how does it compare with other cams youve run in the past?

I can't say anything about other cams. I had some factory hot rods (mussle cars) in the late 60's. They had stock cams as did my high school hot rods. My cars always had loud pipes when I was a kid. I couldn't afford any major mods. 70 cents an hour milking cows doesn't allow much left over after gas and a cheeseburger at the drive-in.

The L100 is still in production. From what Ive read it is a good grind altho I prefer the Schneider 270F/395 for better low end in a heavy vehicle if using a Merc crank. For a Ford crank the 270F/365 is preferable. Both have a great sound.
Just remember you have smaller lobe centers with a regrind so adjustable lifters are going to be needed and even Chevy valves are a good choice.

Thanx guys....yeah ill be running adjustables 286 merc. Should have some get up with 4.11 gears and a 5 spd trans so in not too worried about low end.
Will be around 260 cubes in a 3W coupe.
