My brother just found what appears to be a Franklin tube axle. I have been looking for one for a future 30's era lakes modified project.

It had been in a trailer and still has the wood wheels and hydraulic brakes.

Most that I have seen mount so that the spring was under the axle. This one mounts the spring on top? Were there two variations or did they somehow flip the sping pads around?

The car would sit too high if the spring was on top.

Anyone know? racer5c?

Flip it over, if you don't use the spindles I REALLY need a right front. Where ya located?? if your close to Indy bring it over will flip it for ya.

Do you have to take the ends off the axle to swap the spring pads around? Wouldn't they be at an odd angle if you just flipped them over on the axle?

Have you done your axle yet? If so, a picture would be great.

What hubs are you using? Do the spindles adapt to Ford hubs easily?

How is that for alot of questions http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
