Grand Jury To Investigate Beating Death Of Tulsa Bar Owner
Wednesday October 06, 2004 11:53am

Tulsa (AP) - Tulsa County officials say there are enough valid signatures on a petition to have a grand jury investigate the death of a Tulsa bar owner.

The family of Shawn Howard began the petition drive after prosecutor Tim Harris declined to file charges against a transient who beat Howard with a lead pipe.

Harris says Terry Badgewell acted in self-defense when Howard and bar manager Josh Martin hit him with brass knuckles.

The Tulsa County Election Board says at least five-thousand of the signatures collected by Howard's family are that of registered voters.

Prosecutors say a grand jury already investigating a separate case will likely investigate Howard's death.

It had been so long since I'd heard about it, I was afraid you guys had become discouraged in your battle. Maybe at the end of all of this an impeachment could be in order.
Keep us posted.

I just found the article, I helped lay the groundwork for the petition but was unable to continue with it. I'm very happy there were enough valid signatures on the petition and hope the grand jury does the right thing.

I actually drove through Tulsa on my move back east and I couldn't help thinking that a HUGE sign on the chain link fences on the overpasses on the highway would be a GREAT place to put up HUGE signs about Tim Harris's idea of justice. Just a thought.

Well, it was VERY last minute, and I really should have planned it better but the girl and I didn't want to have any concrete plans for the trip, in case something popped up. Before I knew it, we were about a half hour outside of Tulsa and I called OldCarPilot to see if he was with FltBlk and if I could get Rashy's number from him. Well, it would have required a few phone calls and we were driving and I just basically got lazy and we decided to just drive on through. Excuses..excuses...I really regretted NOT making the effort after that. It would have been good to meet you all.

Excellent..!!

I had a customer just over this last weekend who was
visiting from a town between Tulsa and OKC...
Okemah or something like that..??

I asked her if she'd heard of this case, and she totally
did, and knows just how evil that Tim Harris fag is too....
I hope it all comes together....

Now if I could only get a Deadtown shirt to show my support....

Later, Snacks....

Don't worry folks, Harris is up for re-election in '06 and we have a campaign all worked out for him.

I am thinking of t-shirts that say on the front...

"What will Tim Harris ask of Tulsans after the next election?"

And the back.....

"Would you like fries with that?"

I think huge white letters on a black shirt should do it.

Opinions are like assholes and Im a big asshole right now. I will now bow my head in shame.

I hope I am able to put the words correctly. I am sad for the man who lost his life protecting his business. I feel bad for his family and the very large friendship base. I hope that the killer will pay. I had a friend in Birmingham Alabama who was killed in a bar room robery his wife and 5 other people were slaghtered. Goddamit I am getting pissed just writting this. I hope I said the words right. I am very sorry for everyones loss of a good friend and family member. RIP

Gomez,

If you owned a bar in downtown Tulsa, you would carry AT LEAST brass knuckles as well.

Gotta give you props for educating yourself and apologizing like a man.

Better than most have done.

The fact is, there is only one person who says that Shawn used the knuckles.

And before anyone gets on the "he just shouldn't have had them on him anyways, they're illegal" kick......

The day they quit selling them at the malls and Head Shops around here is the day I'll give that arguement any consideration.

Damn it, I'm getting worked up on this again.

Gottago,

RASHY

You also have to consider the fact was:
You had to be a registered voter from Tulsa county.

I live in Creek county, which is right next to Tulsa, but that shit didn't matter. It's the voters who can vote on dipshit Harris elections. The family would have had the required amount in a day to a week if you could have included outlying counties. Which, they know, contribute just as much to Tulsa's economy as Tulsans themselves.

Anyway, it's great to see the family got the required amount to get this thing active again.
